Chris Martin
Operations Specialist

chris@fortressfw.org

Chris is enjoying his second stint as a Fortress employee and works as Operations Specialist where he manages our building and security needs, supports bookkeeping and HR functions, and manages our check-out procedures in the afternoon. Previously, Chris served as our Preteen Program Specialist, developing curriculum and activities that helped our 4th and 5th graders discover their strengths, develop as leaders, and explore the academic and career readiness options. Pre-Covid, he worked as our Resource and Support Coordinator and was instrumental in the research and redesign of L.E.A.D., our parent engagement program

Chris is a Licensed Master Social Worker and has worked as a therapist with several nonprofit organizations through the years. His most rewarding work has always been in a group therapy setting, and he uses those skills and experience when working with our group of 4th and 5th graders. Steady, nurturing, and not afraid to be a little silly, Chris's strengths are the perfect combination for his role at Fortress.

Chris is happily married and is the proud father of one adult son, Matt, with whom he shares a close relationship. He enjoys catching Matt's band perform live whenever possible, and relishes the occasional day of gaming that they get to spend together. He is also the bonus dad to his wife's three kids and their spouses, and enjoys grilling his famous burgers for their family game nights. He enjoys singing karaoke, loves taking his dog on "adventures" to the park and along the Trinity Trails near Benbrook, and is an avid reader.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5-6
