Stacy Agee Martin
Executive Director

As the Executive Director of Fortress, Stacy means it when she says “I love my job!” It keeps her on her toes creatively, challenges her professionally, and feeds the extroverted Enneagram 7 in her. She’s passionate about our mission and about bringing people on board to help us achieve it.

Stacy first came to Fortress as a volunteer in 2003 and joined the staff in a part-time communications role in 2008. She transitioned into leadership in 2012, and into her current role in 2020. Her gifts do not include working in the classroom, (she loves developing curriculum but lacks the patience to implement it well), but one of her favorite things is when the kids run to her for a hug. She also cherishes the moments when parents and former Fortress kids stop by to say hello. She is proud to be a certified trainer in Bridges Out Of Poverty, Emotional Poverty, and Getting Ahead (through Ruby Payne’s Aha! Process); and a graduate of the Center for Nonprofit Management’s Outcomes-Based Program Evaluation Institute. She also holds a Nonprofit Management Certificate from CNM.

Stacy has lived in Fort Worth since 1991 and loudly sings the praises of what she believes is America's best hometown. She feels blessed to work alongside her daughter each day and is always dreaming of their next mother-daughter getaway trip. Her oldest son is a music education/vocal performance major at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. Her second son is an aspiring lawyer currently studying at UNT, and her bonus son is an aspiring musician. She’s happily married to the man of her dreams, Chris. If she's not at Fortress, she's likely either 1) doodling for her WordyBirdy business, 2) scouting junk stores for vintage treasures, or 3) singing karaoke in her living room with Chris. She loves blue skies, craves the mountains, and is a little bit addicted to iced coffee (HEB’s Taste of San Antonio with one spoonful of Truvia.)
