Stacy Agee Martin
Executive Director

stacy@fortressfw.org

Stacy means it when she says “I love my job!” It keeps her on her toes creatively through grant writing, event planning, and program design, challenges her professionally in every way, and feeds the extroverted Enneagram 7 in her through networking, team building, and telling the Fortress story at every opportunity. She’s passionate about our mission and about bringing people on board to help us achieve it.

Stacy first came to Fortress as a volunteer in 2003 and joined the staff in a part-time communications role in 2008. She transitioned into leadership in 2012, and into her current role in 2020. Her gifts do not include working in the classroom, but one of her favorite things is getting hugs from the kids throughout the day as she moves about the building. She also loves when former Fortress kids and parents stop by to say hello. She is proud to be a certified trainer in Bridges Out Of Poverty, Emotional Poverty, and Getting Ahead (through Ruby Payne’s Aha! Process); and a graduate of the Center for Nonprofit Management’s Outcomes-Based Program Evaluation Institute. She also holds a Nonprofit Management Certificate from CNM.

Stacy has lived in Fort Worth since 1991 and loudly sings the praises of what she believes is America's best hometown. She’s happily married to the man of her dreams, Chris. She’s the mom of 6 incredible adult kids and kids-in-law. If she's not at Fortress, she's likely either 1) doodling for her WordyBirdy business, 2) scouting junk stores for vintage treasures, 3) singing karaoke in her living room with Chris, or 4) visiting the Seattle area where all but one of those 6 kids now live. She loves blue skies, craves the mountains, dances any time Brick House comes on no matter where it is, and is a little bit addicted to iced coffee (HEB’s Taste of San Antonio, black.)
